James Marsden is playing the role of Tom Wachowski and Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik.  The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog. In this movie, you would find that a small-town sheriff helps Sonic in escaping from Dr. Robotnik and the government. Sonic is a blue hedgehog that has the uncanny ability to run fast. When the evil Dr. Robotnik begins to turn all the creatures on the planet into robots, Sonic comes forward to use his ability to stop Robotnik.

Sonic the Hedgehog was initially scheduled to be released last November, but due to overwhelmingly negative reviews to the first trailer, its Studio, the Paramount has rescheduled its release date to February 14, 2020.

Noteworthy, Sonic has been redesigned because the original design brought huge criticism. The redesign version has been unveiled in a new trailer, which was released on November 12, 2019, and has gathered a far more positive reaction from fans and media outlets.

In 2013, Sony Pictures acquired the film rights to the franchise and the movie adaptation in development was done by 2014. Then, Fowler was called to direct the movie in 2016. After the project went to the floor by Sony, Paramount Pictures acquired it in 2017, and the majority of the star casts were signed by August 2018.

The shooting of the film took place between July and October 2018 in Ladysmith and Parksville that is Vancouver Island, and in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

This time, Sonic’s design has been made to make him more like the iconic character that we all know and love. The Sonic character is so popular because of its simplicity and ability to maintain high levels of adrenaline among its fans.
